I am a trauma and acute care surgeon who practices trauma surgery, emergency general surgery and surgical critical care in an academic level 1 trauma center. I have been in clinical practice for nearly 14 years. Academically, I am involved with several major national trauma and critical care organizations where I have held committee leadership positions. I have been active in promoting guidelines and standards of care for trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care patients. I have been an expert consultant and witness for the past five to six years and provide opinions and testimony for three to four cases per year. The majority of the cases involved critical care aspects of surgical patients.
