Matthew Lee

I am a licensed and practicing physician and pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Virginia. I am also licensed as a pharmacist in North Carolina. In addition to my medical doctorate (MD) and pharmacy degree (BPharm), I have a Master of Science in Pharmacology and Toxicology (MS) and Bachelors of Science in Chemistry (BS). I primarily work as a primary care physician, which I have been since graduating medical school in 2004. In 2008 I began my own outpatient community medical practice, eLEEte Physicians, LLC, where I see adult patients for general medical conditions. I serve on the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy Licensure Exam (NABLEX) committee as a question writer. I routinely review the standards and competencies required for pharmacy graduates to become licensed pharmacists as a part of this committee. Even with my primary care medical practice I have continued to work as a pharmacist. Initially in the retail setting (1995 – 2008), then the hospital setting (2008 – 4/2022) and recently I returned to retail pharmacy again (5/2022 – Present). I am also a Local Medical Examiner (LME), appointed by the Chief Medical Examiner of Virginia, for the City of Richmond, and surrounding counties of Henrico, Hanover, and Chesterfield. A Virginia city or county medical examiner is a physician appointed by law to receive the initial call of death and determine whether that death falls within the jurisdiction of the medical examiner and, in some cases, determine the cause and manner of death of persons who die under specific circumstances spelled out by law. Local medical examiners may examine and sign the certificate of death on medical examiner cases or, using professionally established guidelines, refer certain classes of cases for more intensive death investigation and medicolegal autopsy. I have further training in pharmacology and toxicology, beyond my Masters degree and work as a Local Medical Examiner, as a Medical Review Officer (MRO),.
